An independent studio
ATELVYN is a contemporary practice concerned with form, material, and the quiet pressure between an object and the space that receives it.

The practice
Objects with a memory of the hand, and rooms with a memory of the object.
The work moves between painting, sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media without treating those categories as borders. A linen panel can behave like a wall. A bowl can behave like a sentence. What joins them is attention: to weight, to edge, to the way light settles on a material and refuses to leave.
Four series, one practice.

Field Notes
Paintings that keep one interval of light until color becomes a fact.

Vessel
Ceramics built to be held, then set down. The clay is left mostly bare.

Mass
Sculpture concerned with weight, rest, and the room an object occupies.

Surface
Linen, paper, and oxide asked to behave like small architectures.
A note on making
Make the thing until it no longer needs to explain itself. Then give it a room.

In the rooms
From the journal
For collectors, commissions, and careful conversations.
Availability changes in the studio before it changes on the wall. Write with the work in mind, or with a room that needs one.
