A Room for Weight gathers the sculptures and dark paintings that ask a room to slow down. Nothing is staged as a spectacle. The works are given enough floor, and enough quiet, to be measured by the body.
The north room is part of the studio, not a borrowed institution. The exhibition is a way of seeing the practice at full scale: plaster, charcoal, and one line of blue.
Curatorial note
Weight is not heaviness for its own sake. It is the moment an object becomes undeniable in a room. This exhibition keeps that moment still.
